Sloth Records Consignment Policy

Yes! We would love to sell your latest CD, LP, cassette release here at Sloth Records! Here are some basic details on our consignment policy:

What is your markup?
We generally add somewhere between $2-4 (or approx 10-15% of markup) to your release depending on wholesale price. We feel the money should be going to the artist and don’t believe in taking a substantial portion of your sales. Tell us how much you need for each copy of your release or what you want it sold for and we’ll go from there.

How many will you take?
It depends on a number of factors, but usually 2-3 copies is a good place to start. Feel free to get in touch with us before you drop your release off and we can figure it out. Or bring a couple copies down and we’ll let you know when it’s time to restock. 

How do I get paid?
If your release sells out we will get in touch with you and request more, at that point you can come get your money anytime. If we still have copies but you want to get paid out for what has sold, that’s fine, but we will need to close out your consignment at the same time (ie you take back all unsold items at time of payout).

How will I know what’s sold?
Send us an email or give us a call, we’d be happy to update you, within reason. Please do not phone us every second day asking if we’ve sold a copy, but we’d be more than happy to keep you updated every now and then. And if we sell through your release we will do our best to get in touch quickly so we can arrange to get more.
